I am a Visual artist, Ecocritic, and Animal Advocate. Having recently completed my MA in Art History at Carleton University, in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, I have time to contemplate how I will integrate my scholarly efforts with my visual arts practice. During my time studying Art History my research addressed animals in art, the pastoral in printmaking, the representation of industrial animal agriculture in the ecocritical discourse and eco art, and even some other human-centric subjects, like the Ottawa Visual Arts Ecology.
My plan is to publish some of my scholarly research and at the same time, make some art inspired by it. It is certainly time to get the creative juices flowing again!
